Dear Mr. Finn Bagger,

My name is Miguelina Valdes and I am a sophomore attending the University of the Virgin Islands. I am from the island of St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands. I have three sisters, two which are in Florida and one who presently lives with my family. I live with my mother Lucia, my dad Jose, my sister Lucy, and her daugter Kiara of age 5. We have plenty of cats and a dog which we adopted named Bozzy. Currently, I am enrolled in the Social Sciences, but my intended major is International Affairs. I am 19 years of age and enjoy exploring new things in my daily encounters. I love to dance to our cultural music such as the calypso and quelbe music which both Bruhn Kongsted and Lotte Dysted will learn about once they arrive to the Virgin Islands. I also enjoy talking to people from diffrent cultures, therefore I can learn more about their culture and they can learn more about mines.

Upon my arrival at Copenhagen I hope to learn  more about the Danish culture. This includes religious activities, cultural dances, cultural foods, but most of all museums that exists in Copenhagen. I would really hope to see the former offices of the East India Building, view records that exists of the Virgin Islands, and the grave of Peter von Scholten who proclaimed freedom for the Virgin Islands. There are many more things I would like to see, but for now the most exciting part of the trip is actually going to Denmark and enjoying this great experience.

I am anxious to visit Denmark and also grateful to the families who have accepted both myself and my counterpart from Saint Thomas into their homes. Once again, thank you and hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,
Miguelina Valdes
